- We explored a pumpkin today! We predicted what would be inside of the pumpkin before we opened it up. We felt the slimey, gooey insides of the pumpkin and pulled out the seeds. We left the seeds and guts in a sensory tub to play withtomorrow! We made our fingers strong with pumpkin spice play dough at the table. It smelled so yummy!
*Please let us know how your child dresses up tonight. We would love to talk with them about it tomorrow!

We were really excited to see all of the costumes tomorrow, however, we have been told that children are not allowed to wear costumes to school. We do apologize for any inconvenience that this has caused. We look forward to seeing you tomorrow!
We did more predicting today with mixing red and yellow paint on a white pumpkin. We ended up with some of the prettiest colors of orange. In our sensory table we added orange food coloring to the water and wiggly eyes and pretended it was monster soup. We never made it out to the playground today due to the rain but enjoyed our extra time playing with our friends using our imaginations during center time.
If you would like for your child to wear their costume on Thursday feel free! We used tongs to pick up spiders at the table today. Using tongs is a great way to practice our fine motor skills. Our song this week is called "There's a Spider on the Floor". We move our spider (fingers) to our knee, thigh, belly, face, and head. We he gets to our head we brush him off and say goodbye to him as he crawls out the door.
Today we got to learn about fire safety first hand from the firefighters! They brought a fire truck and ambulance for us to learn about. The fireman put on his fire gear to teach the kids when they saw a fireman dressed up he is there to keep them safe. We worked on puzzles today for our opening activity and had fun exploring our science center some more.
I am looking forward to We did coloring mixing today with shaving cream. We have been reading "Mouse Paint" this week and the three white mice each get in a jar of paint, one red, one yellow and one blue. They then mix their color of paint with another to make green, purple and orange. Each child got to choose two primary colors to mix together in their shaving cream to make a new color. It was so much fun to see the looks on their faces as they discovered their new color!
*Don't forget next week is a short week! See you on Wednesday or Thursday! We cut straws at the table today. The kids had fun watching them fly into the air as they cut them! We played with bean bag scarves in the gym today. They are heavy at the bottom and and have a scarf at the top. They are fun to throw in the air. We practiced throwing and catching with a friend. We explored our new science center today. The magnets were a lot of fun to experiment with!
*tomorrow your child can wear their favorite color! Today we dot painted with bright colors on the first letter of our name. Although kids are not yet recognizing their name in print at this age, the more exposure we give them the better. We have new LARGE legos in our room. The are 12x6 and 6x6. The blocks are so much fun to build with and make a nice loud sound when they are knocked down. It was very chilly on the playground. Please be sure and send a jacket with your child, we will be going outside as long as we can!
Thursday is PURPLE day! Happy Monday! I apologize, I just realized that I did not update my blog on Thursday! I hope everyone had a wonderful 3 day weekend! Today we started a new book called Mouse Paint. It is about 3 mice the get into red, yellow, and blue paint. They explore with the paint and end up mixing colors! We used letter stampers with play dough today to help increase awarenedd of letters in our names. Tomorrow we are wearing black!
