Just a friendly reminder, no school tomorrow, Friday August 30 for staff development or Monday September 2 for Labor Day. We have had another wonderful week out here in the cottage! Today we did free journal where we worked on drawing shapes, letter like forms and pictures. We passed a "hot potato" at circle time to work on increasing peer interactions as well as waiting for a turn. Please notice in your folders an "All About Me" form for you and your child to fill out and return next week to class. We are anxious to get to know about each of our friends over the next two weeks at school. Please feel free to leave a comment after you have read our daily blog! I would love to have feedback and hear from you! THANKS!

Today we sang "Slippery Fish" at circle. The kids loved it, they have already started to imitate the actions. We sorted colors at the table and worked on naming and counting the objects. Our story today was David Goes to School . We related the book to our classroom expectations.

Today Mrs. Allen and I attended a Conscious Discipline workshop. We learned new strategies to help with self regulation skills. It was a great learning experience. I am excited to continue to build our school family. We had a great time in the gym on the scooters. The kids had fun taking turns pulling each other on scooters with a hula-hoop. This helped to build our upper body strength to help promote future hand writing as well as increase
We had such a great time getting messy with stamps and stamp pads. We had even more fun watching the soapy water in the sensory table change colors as we washed our hands off in it. A Watch DOG from the building joined us at recess. The kids are starting to learn each other's names and feel more comfortable participating at circle time. Have a great weekend I am looking
We had so much fun playing in shaving cream today! Messy Play is an important part of early education. If offers many opportunities for learning. Using shaving cream is a great way to excite the senses and encourage fine motor development. "Pete the Cat" is quickly becoming a favorite book out here in the cottage. In gym we worked on throwing, rolling and kicking a ball with a friend. We put water in our sensory table and practiced scooping and pouring.
