At the table today we drove cars through paint and drove them on butcher paper all across the table. It was so much fun to see the different kind of tracks the different cars made. We have been working real hard on waiting our turn during large group activities. It is a difficult skill to learn, and requires a lot of self control! In the gym today we rolled hula-hoops to each other and had fun trying to hula-hoop.

At the table today we used stamps and stamp pads. The kids had so much fun with the petting farm. There were sheep, a llama, baby goats, baby chicks and baby ducks. We were so thankful the weather held out and we stayed dry. This week we area beginning a Transportation theme and will sing an all time favorite song "The Factory Song". We sing about a car, train, motorcycle, bus and helicopter.
Today we painted with watercolors. After we painted we put glue all over our paper and sprinkled salt on the glue. We observed what happened when we put the glue and salt on our paint. Some of our paint dispersed when we put the glue and salt on and some of the paint stayed the same. We enjoyed bubbles and explored with sidewalk chalk on the playground today. They had fun chasing the bubbles! Have a wonderful weekend!
Today we did stickers at the table. Stickers are a great way to promote fine motor skills. We enjoyed a lot of outside time today with the beautiful weather.
*Tomorrow is Meet Me in the Park at Recreation Park from 11-12! See you there! * The kids glued orange strips of paper around a picture of their face today to make a lion. We worked on naming zoo animals and charted our favorite zoo animal today. Due to the rain this morning we did not have the petting-farm but will try again next Monday (weather pending). We were able to make it to the playground by the afternoon.
We had so much fun painting with marshmallows today. Some of us even tasted the marshmallows. At circle we experimented with mini marshmallows and water again, however today we used colored marshmallows to see if we observed anything different. We enjoyed the playground and were able to run around and burn some energy!!
*Don't forget, NO SCHOOL THURSDAY OR FRIDAY! We look forward to seeing everyone Monday. *We will have a traveling petting farm come visit us on Monday. We get to visit the petting farm in the morning from 10:00-10:30 and in the afternoon from 12:00-12:30. If your child attends school ONLY on Tuesdays and Fridays then you can come up as a family and visit the animals from 10:30-11:30. They will be outside in the grassy area between the cottage and the elementary behind the fence. We explored marshmallows today! We cut them at the table with scissors and did a science experiment during circle. We put the marshmallows in water and made observations about what was happening. Here are some of the observations we heard:
-It is floating -It is growing -It feels squishy -The water turned white -The water tastes like marshmallows -It got smaller ***Reminder: NO SCHOOL this Thursday or Friday! ***If you were given an ASQ form to fill out please return tomorrow! Thank you! We had fun making snakes and worms with play-doh and painted with pop bottles. The bottom of the bottles made such pretty designs when stamped. We have been enjoying the song Spider of the Floor (we sing about the spider on our knee, thigh, belly, face and head) and have been working on stomping our feet to each letter when singing the alphabet song (sung to the tune of "Mary Had a Little Lamb"). By doing this the kids are hearing each sound and letter and get great proprioceptive input!
We used dot paints on a coffee filter today. We are going to make them into butterflies to put on our wall for Spring. We also got out some roller paints to explore with on paper. We drew pictures with the rollers, made our names with the rollers, and made lines and shapes with the rollers
